Susan Lee (Hiatt) Niehaus, 72, Avon, passed away Jan. 18, 2017 at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville.

She was born Aug. 12, 1944 to Clifford G. and Ruby P. (Harbaugh) Hiatt and grew up in Bakers Corner.

She was a 1962 Sheridan High School graduate and went on to work a number of years in the offices of Stokely VanCamps in Indianapolis and Rays Trash Service in Clayton.

On May 19, 1973, she was married in Sheridan to Andrew Niehaus after which they made their home in the Plainfield / Avon area. Mrs. Hiatt enjoyed participating in church activities, she loved animals and greatly enjoyed her family, especially her three grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Andrew Niehaus; three grandchildren, Skyler Niehaus, J.J. Wright and Rayden Wright; two brothers, Merrill (Marty) Hiatt of Madison and John (Barbara) Hiatt of Lebanon; a sister, Mary Ellen (Scotty) Hiatt of Colfax; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Erin Wright, brothers, Russell Hiatt and Jerry Hiatt and sister Sara Henley Boyer Malan.

There was no service and no calling.
