Steven Ray Miller, 69, of Noblesville and formerly of Sheridan, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday morning, Aug. 16, 2018.

Born May 8, 1949 in Washington, Missouri, he was the son of Denzil W. and Virginia R. (Reddick) Miller.

After graduating from Sheridan High School with the Class of 1967, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

After his service in the Navy was complete, Mr. Miller entered the workforce, hiring on with a number of different manufacturing companies throughout the country. For most of his career, he had a hand in the manufacturing, servicing and installation of feeder bowls and systems. He was currently working with American Feeder Systems.

Music was strong influence in his life. He loved singing Karaoke, playing guitar, and performing with his band, who at the advice of their legal counsel, stopped calling themselves the Steven Miller Band and would forever become known as Uppertrack.  Mr. Miller also had a flare for magic as well, performing under the stage name of Captain Miller, Music, Magic and More. When he wasn't either working or performing, he enjoyed teaching line dancing.

He was a member of the Sheridan First Christian Church and the Noblesville Moose Lodge #540. He was also a member of the Gold Wing Road Rider's Association. He loved getting out and going for a ride any chance he could.

Survivors include his loving mother, Virginia (Reddick) Miller of Sheridan; his beautiful daughter, Angela Lynn Miller of Noblesville; his "second parents," Pops and Mom #2 Sylvester of Noblesville; two sisters Connie R. (Brian) Wright of Frankfort, and Deborah E. (Darel) McCorkle of Noblesville; several nieces and nephews; and his canine BFF and very loving Maltese, Cody.

He was preceded in death by his father, Denzil Miller; his sister, Anita Sue Henderson; and by his nephew, Kevin Mark Henderson.

Services with military honors are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St. in Sheridan. Family and friends may pay their respects from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
