The Sheridan Community School Scholarship Foundation formed in 1989 as a collective effort from several local donors to help more Sheridan High School seniors pursue post-secondary education. In a pivotal 2015 decision, the private foundation opted to convert its assets into a scholarship fund at Legacy Fund. As a result, the committee acquired access to Legacy Fund’s personalized investment expertise and scholarship fund management, while maintaining and honoring the original donors’ intent.

The Sheridan Community School Scholarship Foundation Fund is in good company. In 2018, CICF, its affiliates, Legacy Fund and The Indianapolis Foundation, as well as other donor established funds, awarded over $1.2 million to students enrolled in post-secondary education. All scholarship opportunities for the 2019-20 academic year, including the Sheridan Community School Scholarship Foundation Fund, can be viewed at cicf.org/scholarships beginning Aug. 1.
